Synopsis: CATHY COPPOLA is the story of a struggling filmmaker who believes the only way to make a name for herself is by becoming someone else. Struggling NYC filmmaker Cathy Klinkman (Stefanie Sparks) has had enough of not being taken seriously by the brutal NYC indie film world and decides to take matters into her own hands by starting a rumor that she is the illegitimate daughter of a famous film director.
Shot over the course of 9 days in August 2012, Stefanie received a Jerome Foundation grant to shoot her first feature for just over $15,000. CATHY screened at Female Eye Film Festival in 2013 and Brooklyn Girl Film Festival in 2014. It was nominated for the audience award at both festivals.
